Paneer Tikka

Recipe

Preparation time - 10 minutes

Marinating time - 2-3 hours

Cooking time - 40 minutes

Serves - 2-3

Ingredients

250g Paneer - cut into cubes

1/2 cup Greek yogurt

1 tsp Ginger powder

1/2 tsp Garlic powder

1 tsp Red chili powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tsp Garam masala

1 tbsp Lemon juice

Salt to taste

Tandoori paste -

2 tbsp Chickpea flour

1/2 tsp Red chili powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

1/2 tsp Cumin powder

1/2 tsp Coriander powder

1/2 tsp Chaat masala

1 tbsp Oil

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients. Add the paneer cubes and coat them evenly. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, however the longer the better (I recommend at least 2-3 hours)

  2. In another bowl, mix all the tandoori paste ingredients to form a thick paste and set aside.

  3. Preheat your grill or oven to 200°C.

  4. Thread the marinated paneer cubes, bell peppers and onions, onto the skewers, alternating them.

  5. Brush the tandoori paste generously onto the paneer and veggies.

  6. Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until the paneer and vegetables are charred and cooked through.

  7. Serve hot with mint chutney, sliced onions and lemon wedges (optional).
