Kali Mirch Paneer

Ingredients
250g Paneer
Marinade -
3 tbsp Yogurt
3 tbsp Cream
1 tbsp Freshly crushed Black Pepper
1 tbsp Kasuri Methi
Sauce/Gravy -
1 tbsp Oil
1 Bay leaf
2 Cloves
2-3 Whole green cardamom
12 Cashews
Handful of coriander stems
1 onion, chopped
1 tbsp Ginger - finely chopped
1 tbsp Garlic - finely chopped
3 Green chillies
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp sugar (optional)
1/2 cup milk or more
1 tbsp Freshly crushed black pepper
2-3 tbsp coriander - finely chopped
Method
Cut the paneer into cubes.
Add all the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl and mix well, add the paneer in. Set aside for 30-40 minutes.
In a pan add oil and allow it to heat for a minute. Add in the bay leaf, cloves, cardamom & sauté.
Add in the cashew, coriander stems, onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies & let this cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add the water let this mixture come to a boil.
Remove the bay leaf & blitz the mixture to a smooth paste.
Once the paneer is well marinated, sauté or grill it until cooked on all sides.
In a pan heat butter & oil in a pan.
Pour in the paste with some sugar & milk & cook this for 6-7 minutes.
Add in the freshly crushed black pepper, coriander, & the cooked paneer.
Cook this for 2-3 minutes, taste and adjust the seasoning.
Garnish and serve immediately!
